Pain Management
Management of conditions such as sciatica, period pain and headaches (including migraines) can be difficult. Constant or recurring pain can be debilitating and frustrating, and often conventional painkilling medications are not suitable for long term use. Unfortunately many of the most effective herbal painkillers are restricted by law to prescription by a herbalist, and as such a consultation and personal prescription is necessary.
Where possible the herbalist will work to improve the underlying cause of the pain, e.g. muscle relaxants and anti-spasmodics for sciatica, herbs to support balancing hormones for period pain or herbs with proven effects for headaches (e.g. feverfew). They may also be able to identify aspects of lifestyle and diet that can be adjusted to reduce pain levels.
