Herbalism and other Treatments

Our herbalist are able to work alongside a range of other medical professionals. At glasgow-herbalist our herbalist have worked with

  • GP’s
  • Consultants
  • Psychologists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Homeopaths
  • Acupuncturists
  • Often the best way to proceed is for the client to speak to the herbalist to check that they are happy to treat you alongside the care you are already receiving. If they are happy to do so then we recommend that you advise the person that this is what you have decided to do. Only in specific instances will the herbalist ask for written confirmation from the other practitioners or for a letter or a meeting/telephone discussion with the other practitioner.

Treatments can proceed in different ways, in some cases it may be recommended to stop taking the herbs for period of time (e.g. surgery) or the mix may be changed (e.g. if starting a course of acupuncture it may be changed to support the acupuncturists diagnosis and aims).

As each situation is unique the herbalist will discuss in more detail any requirements during the first consultation or at any other appropraite time.

We always highlight that you are entitled to the care you cohoose and you should not be limited by a specific doctor or other practitioenrs own beliefs. Decisions that they make shoud only be bsaed on their knowledge of the specifc details of your proprsed treatmetns, and if needed the information that the herbalist requires.
